One Thousand Seconds of Breathing, 2021.

Movements within the body like moments in life can never be replicated precisely, this is a reminder for us to remain present and embrace each moment. The repetition in my work has allowed me to break free from the constant noise of the mind. Likewise the repetitive presence opens a space for stilling the mind.

Within this work, I look at the body's natural rhythm and form in close proximity. I think of breathing like waves in the ocean, there will never be one exactly the same.

This work is part of a series I submitted for BFA year three Midyear Exhibition at Whitecliffe College in 2021.
